EMDR Intensives

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD. If you missed the intro page about EMDR, you can find it here.

You may not have the time or flexibility for weekly therapy in your day-to-day life.

You may have a great relationship with your current therapist, but they don't offer EMDR, so you'd like to do "adjunct work" with an EMDR therapist as a supplement to your regular therapy.

You may feel that you need relief fast, and you would prefer to schedule a day or a weekend and experience significant relief in a shorter period of time, rather than waiting several months for a breakthrough. Weekly EMDR is very powerful, but each session we spend time checking in, starting the session, and closing down. That transition time is minimized in the intensive model.

If any of these statements speak to you, an EMDR intensive might be right for you.

EMDR intensives allow us to customize a session for you to accomplish as much work as possible in one session. Intensives will include a thorough interview to make sure you are a good fit for the intensive model and to identify the issues you would like to work on. EMDR intensives are available through online therapy for anyone located in the state of Georgia, and can be scheduled in-person in one of our two physical offices in Alpharetta, GA or Athens, GA, for anyone able to travel here for the duration of the intensive. Intensives may be scheduled for 1-3 days at a time. The details of scheduling are designed around each client's needs.

Half/Full Day Intensives

For clients who:

Want to work more efficiently than single hour sessions, but still want to pace the work
Can tolerate 3+ hours of deep work
Are excited about going deep and getting a lot done at once but still like to have time in between sessions for a break and integration
Are ready to invest in longer sessions with your money, time, and energy

Multi-Day Intensives

For clients who:

Have done a lot of the preliminary insight work and skill-building work, and are ready to get as much deep work done as possible
Can tolerate multiple hours a day for multiple days in a row
Are ready for a big life change
Are ready to invest the money, time, and energy to do up 6 month's worth of work in one week
